Club Camps/Clinics

2010 is all about taking it to the beach and taking your game to the next level!

As some of you may know, and many of you may not, there is exciting news regarding beach volleyball. In April of 2009, the NCAA voted to make beach volleyball, which will be called Sand Volleyball, an emerging sport for women beginning in the 2010-2011 season. There was some controversy about this and there was an opportunity for this decision to be overturned on January 15th 2010. Volleyball players everywhere helped vote to stop the override, and keep Sand Volleyball as an emerging women's sport. (To see an article about click here).

Being the director of No Limit, as well as a sand volleyball FANATIC, I am extremely excited about this news. I am excited for the new opportunities that sand volleyball will provide to our young women. Up until the time I started coaching club volleyball, I did all of my private and semi-private lessons on the sand. It is a game I have personally trained extensively for, and have played since almost the time I began my volleyball career some years ago. I find it an essential game for creating all around skills, and a better knowledge of the volleyball in general. Despite what some people may think, indoor volleyball and sand volleyball are almost two completely different types of games. It is exciting for me to offer my knowledge of this relatively "new" game to young players, as well as continue on with my summer sand lessons. I plan to put together a small league and even some sand clinic dates for players during the summer. These leagues/clinics will be geared toward teaching middle school and high school volleyballers the skills and knowledge of the sand game, and how it will greatly benefit with their indoor skills. If you are interested in participating in some sand volleyball training, a league/clinic or just have general questions please email me at nolimitvolleyball@gmail.com I will begin to compile a list of people so I can pick an appropriate location as we get closer to the warmer weather!
